A very strong Severe thunderstorm moves over Thimble Peak and Blackett’s Ridge above the Sabino Canyon Area. The most severe lightning storm we have seen or photographed in 10 years in Tucson Arizona.

The lightning bolts light up the green grassy hills and you can see Thimble Peak in the background. Shot on a Nikon F-100 with Fuji Velvia Film. The most severe lightning storm we have seen or photographed in 10 years in Tucson Arizona.

Huge Lightning Bolts Siera Vista Arizona
Huge Lightning Bolts from a Severe thunderstorm at night on a black sky near Siera Vista Arizona. These bolts were extremely close to the camera and light up subtle structures in the clouds to completely black desert sky. Shot on a Hasselblad 500 CM medium format camera on Fuji Velvia Film. This was scanned on the new Hasselblad Flextight X5 Scanner.

Rapidly growing Cumulonimbus clouds in a tornado producing Supercell Thunderstorm near Anthony, Kansas. The storm tops were approaching 60,000 feet. This Supercell produced a F1 Tornado near Anthony Kansas May 27th 1997 Digitally re-mastered in 2007 from the original transparency printed on an Epson Archival Printer using Arches Infinity paper.
