Event for Mercedes of Tucson
Mercedes Benz of Tucson event at North Italia restaurant at La Encantada. They had Hollywood impersonators flown in and released these new Mercedes models to the public. It was a fun event to cover. It was created for social media marketing so after I completed processing the images I uploaded the folder to the Mercedes FB page.

Woodrow Residence for Logan Simpson
This ranch house on the east side of Tucson was photographed for an application to the National Register of Historic Places. It was very challenging to show the elevations because of all the trees around the place but with the various skies, times of day and clouds we were able to create a nice set of photos for the application. We were out at the site about seven times which is what I figured it would take. The historic information gathered for this report was very thorough and this set of photographs help to compliment and update that information. The quality of the photography can make or break the application process so you only want to send the best work!
For Forbes Magazine
I shot this photo for Forbes Magazine on a Friday night down on Congress Street. Part of the story is about Police departments using License Plate Scanners in Patrol cars which photograph every car on the street, everywhere the Patrol car goes. We were just shooting on Congress Street with traffic flowing by and this police car came by and I flashed just at the exact right time. This guy who lives in California retrieved the photos of his car that the police had taken to reveal shots of his children playing in his front yard. They still never got my credit corrected on the photo!!!
Estee Lauder New Dimension Make up Promotion and Contest at Dillards in the Tucson Mall. Photographed this special promotion for Estee Lauder over a two hour period as women came in to get make overs with this new makeup. People had fun with it and I was there to cover Tucson, there were similar promotions being photographed at 75 other malls all across the country at the same time. I actually was able to look at quite a few of the other photographers submissions and was satisfied how well my shoot looked.

Tucson Public Art Project in Barrio San Antonio Neighborhood
New Public art project created by artists Mary Lucking and Dwayne Arnspiger at the Arroyo Chico Retention Basin Project. There are 8 of these tilled tuffets along the meandering pathways which circle the new basins. This is directly across the street from my house. This tuffet featured bats and a nighttime silhouette of the city, the bats were flying just over my head when I shot this, across from Highland Free School.

Working at the IBM Test and Design Facility in Tucson Arizona
We had fifteen minutes at the end of the day to shoot this drive, it looked like a large cassette stereo out of your car to me, but one of the engineers said it cost $30,000 dollars and it was the flagship of their IBM Total Storage line of products. As soon as I finished retouching this image I sent a copy to one of IBM's designers and it was on the very first page of IBM.com within 2 hours. Well that made me feel great! This is an Ultrium Tape Drive Unit shot for IBM, the image above was shot in their studio. Since this was a one of a kind prototype test drive unit it needed some additional retouching besides the normal color correct and drop out on a white background. The power logo and Total Storage logo had to be added, the green button and stripes had to be colored to an exact Panatone color the lock was fixed and subtle variations in the texture had to be fixed, the arrows had to be colored the main logo fixed and the LCD panelv was replaced with more detailed image. Then it was ready for use by IBM. What are your companies most important products? Hire us to photograph them today.

A shot of the LTO 3582 Ultrium Tape Drive shot the same day as the previous image, was used on the Total Storage Product guide cover which is available as a PDF file on the IBM.com website. It was also used in the Ultrium section of the website and with other printed marketing materials. This had the same retouching the previous image.

Exterior of the Tape Storage Library called a Silo the black Drive Cabinets are the part made by IBM. You can enter through a small access door on the side of the machine. The Silo was in the smallest room you could imagine but we still were able to set up enough lights to make it look good. All the background and random cables around this machine were dropped out to make a nice clean shot. The next photo shows the inside.

Inside the Silo which is s huge tape storage machine, it was a tight fit with me, the tripod and the two lights. You enter through a small access door on the side of the machine. Shooting with a Fisheye lens makes IBM look cool! IBM makes the drives that the picker is loading, where all the green lights show, it uses a laser to scan the bar codes and numbersv to find the right tape on the shelf, kind of like how books are stored on a library shelf.

This was made by a local artist here in town who was a breast cancer survivor. The National Client was Roche Pharmaceuticals they were putting together a calendar with artwork made by breast cancer survivors. The background is an old piece of galvanized tin the artist had in her backyard, it looks like hammered metal and really works with the sculpture.
Data Mining Praying Mantis on a DVD showing lines of burned data, that Aphid showed up just in time for lunch. I was super close with a macro lens and the mantis would jump into my hair. I had to recreate the edge of the DVD and the black line in Photoshop as the normal edge does not look this smooth when you are this close.
Olivier Mosset Arrives at MOCA DMZ
This was shot for MOCA back in August with the artist Olivier Mosset arriving at the MOCA DMZ when the entry way was under construction. This image was a composite of 8 images all different exposures shot from the exact camera position and then composited back into one image in Photoshop. It took about 6 hours to put it together once shot. You can even see one of Gwyneths Jellies hanging inside the space. You can see Olivier and Anne Marie on the roof playing their rolls as devil and angel artists. Olivier hates to have his photo taken as a matter of fact he did not know he was going to be in photos that day.

Artist Mary Lucking's Art Instalation "Picnic With A Fish" March 24th 2012 sponsored by Scottsdale Public Art
Enjoy your lunch or simply relax in the idyllic setting created by artist Mary Lucking, with the generous in kind support of Salt River Project, who worked with Lucking to bring their White Amur out of the canal to the picnic. Lucking's picnic staff passes out oranges and artist designed take-aways, and the Valley's HIP Historian Marshall Shore, shares the often odd, always intriguing side of AZ history. Peel an orange or treat yourself to gelato in the charming company of an Amur while sitting in the shade of a balloon tree.

I was hired by Mary to cover this public art event it was only for the day and then the fish went back into the canals. What kind of events can I shoot for you?

J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort with Fireworks, I was only about half way up the hill to shoot this when the fireworks started so I had to shoot where I was on the trail. Plus my camera was not set correctly and the show was over really quick. Its a pretty good shot but if I had not been held up by the train on 22nd street I'm sure I could have done better. Still looks pretty Amazing like a Maxfield Parrish painting. Its monsoon season in the desert.
These were paper flowers I shot out at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort for a magazine article. 45 minutes to shoot, 2 hours post production time, delivered the next day. I like the way these came out but I also like the idea that these paper flowers can be planted after an event and they will grow new flowers. Caption:The clever Stephanie Sanders, manager of Destination Services by Loews, made orgami cherry blossom flowers from seed paper. The flowers, which make a beautiful centerpiece, can be given to party guests as a take home that they can plant in their garden!
